Gradient Search is a one-person recruiting business run by James Arnold. This page covers gradientsearch.io and the recruiting system behind it.

What is collected, and when

If you apply for a role, you give: your name, email address, résumé, and optionally your phone number, LinkedIn URL, location, an answer about work authorisation, and anything you write in the free-text box.

If you use the contact form, it opens your own email client. Nothing is submitted to this website, and nothing is stored until you send that email.

Candidates are also sourced from public professional profiles without applying. If you are in the database this way and would rather not be, say so and the record is deleted.

What is done with it

Your details are used to consider you for roles and to contact you about them. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with any advertising or analytics business.

Your details are shown to a client company only after we have spoken and you have agreed to that specific role. That is a rule of how this business runs, not just a policy line.

Text is extracted from your résumé so it can be searched later. The file itself is stored privately and is not published anywhere.

Where contact details are missing, a lookup service (People Data Labs) may be used to fill gaps from public professional data.

Where it is kept

Data is held in Supabase, a hosted database provider, on servers in the United States. Résumé files are kept in private storage that is not publicly reachable and not indexed by search engines.

Notification emails are delivered by Resend. The website is hosted by Vercel.

How long it is kept

Applications and candidate records are kept while there is a realistic chance of a relevant role, since recruiting works over years rather than weeks.

Ask for deletion and the record and the résumé file are removed, normally within a few days.

Your choices

You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for a copy, or ask for it to be deleted.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and carries no advertising or social tracking pixels. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
